A digital face recognition device has been installed on the first floor of Tien Phong Building. The device can recognize faces of people coming to the building, as well as saving their images. More interestingly, it can automatically generate greetings in three languages: Vietnamese, Japanese and English. In the near future, FRD expects to adopt this face recognition technology to replace the current swipe card security system.

Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) is a software system which helps us manage children and vehicles by defining a location based on Global Positioning System (GPS) plus condition measure sensing.

Users are allowed to report urgent conditions to the center or manager via text message or GPRS channel. The manager can then immediately control the remote management equipment, for example turning on/off the engine or alert system.

Moreover, the system also has other added-value services such as over-speed warning, announcement for leaving/arriving at a location, maintenance warning, report printing, vehicle booking, location searching, trip guiding and road path checking.

Starting in March 2009, the product was developed by the VTS project team. The Automatic Vehicle Location tool of this system, which connects to the CAN bus network, has also been completed to compile more information about the engine to ensure the car is serviced and maintained.

It is eventually hoped to widen the application of this tool to other products and services, such as industrial applications and smart houses.

September 13 is the anniversary of FPT Corporation’s founding. Annually, the Corporation celebrates with Olympic Games in the morning and the STCo Gala (an FPT-style gala) in the evening. However, this year’s anniversary will be different with the traditional Olympic Day and STCo Night being replaced by a Festival including traditional FPT games, beer party, rock show and road march.

This Festival will be held in all three regions under the slogan “Tiếp nguồn sinh khí” (Energizing Life) with a common theme across all three regions “Lửa FPT tiếp nối 3 miền” (FPT’s flame connects the three regions), starting on September 11 at FPT Ho Chi Minh, continuing on September 12 at FPT Danang and coming to a close on September 13 at FPT Hanoi.

However, the highlight of this year’s Festival is that FPT Corporation will officially reveal its new brand name and communications message. By choosing September 13, FPT intends that this day will not only mark an annual birthday anniversary but also become a remarkable milestone in the Corporation’s development history after 22 years of operation.

From July 15-18, 2010, FPT participated in the Computer Expo Conference and Exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Exhibition Convention Center (SECC).

At the opening ceremony, FPT Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Nguyen Thanh Nam presented a speech “Cooperation between state and private enterprises to improve the information technology infrastructure for e-government”. In the afternoon, Hoang Minh Chau – Vice Chairman – attended the CEO & CIO Club Meeting. The evening’s “Dem Cong nghe” Gala Dinner was sponsored by FPT Corporation.

Computer Expo is an annual information technology and communications event, which includes an exhibition, conference and awards (as mentioned above, FPT Corporation received the Top 5 ICT Award).
