Hanoi, September 4th, 2009- Nihon Unisys Company (Japan), Nissen Holdings Company (Japan), and FPT Software Joint Stock Company have officially kicked off Nina project at Daewoo hotel, Hanoi, under the witness of high ranking leaders of the three companies and more than 150 project team members.
Nina project, worth nearly US$2 million, is the biggest software project which does for Japanese market in Vietnam up to now. The project’s customer is Nissen Company which is the leading company in Catalogue selling area in Japan. The project will last from now to the end of June 2010. Nihon Unisys – Japan is the general contractor, and FPT Software, who is responsible for most of work phases from physical design to system integration testing, is the prime contractor. A number of other Vietnamese companies also take part in.
FPT Software has approached this opportunity for many years and overcame many weighty competitors of Vietnam and Japan to become the prime contractor of the project. “The direct signing between FPT Software and the partner, not through any vendor, expresses that the competitive capacity and ability of Vietnamese software companies are promoted to a new high level, peering with Japanese ones”, said FPT Software CEO Bui Thi Hong Lien.
Mr. Dao Duy Cuong, Group Leader of Operation Group No.13 of FPT Software, which is the unit receiving the project, said that “We have cooperated with Nissen for 6 years. Thus, I totally believe that FPT Software’s capacity and ability of coordination will make the project successful”.
Nina project aims to rebuild Nissen’s core system of retail and e-commerce. This is also the common trend of retailers in the world. There are more than 2500 companies doing business in this field in Japan at present. Thus, if succeeded, FPT Software in particular and Vietnamese software companies in general would have many opportunities to penetrate into the core businesses of customers and widen much more their market in Japan that is the big market of FPT Software and Vietnam software outsourcing industry.
