Top 10 events of FPT Software 2009
During the first week of January 2010, FPT Software staff members worldwide were asked to nominate and vote for the Company’s most significant events, from throughout 2009.
Among the 21 most significant events nominated, the Top 10 events can finally be revealed:
Number 1: The appearance of FPT Software’s first ever subsidiary companies (SCs). After the initial establishment of FPT Software Solutions Company (FPTSS), FPT Software Hanoi branch created four SCs, namely FPT Software Direct Marketing Solutions (FDM), FPT Software Research & Development (FRD), FPT Software Engineering (FSE), and FPT Software Worldwide (FSW). This event drew 376 of the total of 439 votes.
Number 2: The appointment of the first foreigner to CEO of an FPT Software branch. Mr. Ogawa Takeo formally became CEO of FPT Japan from January 1st 2010.
Number 3: The flu epidemic of H1N1 spread out in three regions of FPT Software. Many FPT Software staff were isolated at home having been infected with the flu. The working offices had to be decontaminated periodically.
Number 4: FPT Software shares experiences on CMMi implementation with Vietnam’s IT community through the Ministry of Information & Communications, including: the material package of process management, software system as open source, and installation directions. The program lasted from July to December 2009.
Number 5: The largest project in the Japanese market was kicked off with the presence of about 150 project members in Vietnam and 60 from Japan. The project is worth US$1.3 million.
Number 6: The first exhibition of FPT Software’s resident artist was held in October 2009. Nearly 400 paintings about FPT people and their lives were displayed and drew a large number of FPT staff members.
Number 7: FPT Software won three major awards at the Vietnam ICT Awards 2008, namely the best software enterprise, the best management process, and the highest revenue.
Number 8: A series of activities in celebration of 10 years of FPT Software were launched, including Software stories 2.0, visiting staff homes, meeting customers at the beginning of spring, making films, honoring 108 heroes, popularizing email signatures and 10 year logo, FPT Software 10 year picture competition, etc.
Number 9: FPT Software Danang branch moves to FPT Danang building. The new building was inaugurated on January 11th 2010 after nearly 17 months of construction. The building, which is one of the largest hi-tech buildings in Danang, contains 9,000 square meters in a five floor building and is located in Danang’s Massda Industrial Park. It is able to provide standard work spaces and facilities for about 1,200 people.
Number 10: Two events stand together in the 10th position, with equal number of votes, including:
- The shift of FPT Software’s strategy from “defense” to “counter-attack”: FPT Software dissolved the Board of anti-crisis, and invests actively for development, and expands its presence in potential markets.
- FPT Software website was attacked by hackers. It has been upgraded and now has a new interface.
